The year 2017 will go down as a historical year for comic book movies at the box office. Come June, we had Wonder Woman which stands at a whopping $816.3 million. The Themysciran Goddess left her mark and set the bar very high for the surge of summer movies to come.

A month later the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Homecoming would be released and up to this date, it now has made $820 million internationally. Due to a recent release in China, where we also received multitudes of beautiful new promotional posters, it has now beat out Wonder Woman globally.

Tom Holland has definitely proved he is a fantastic fit for Spider-Man as has Gal Gadot for Wonder Woman. Both movies are set to have sequels in the future. You can catch Wonder Woman in Justice League on November 17, 2017! Spider-Man also has a role in the next Avengers installment, Avengers: Infinity War out on May 4, 2017.
