With more and more video games getting turned into movies, one of the most popular current gaming franchise is looking to do the same. Activision Blizzard Studios is looking at ‘Sicario 2’ director Stefano Sollima to direct a movie based on their popular game franchise Call of Duty.
The movie will be based off a new plot rather than using an existing game’s story. The movie will be produced by Stacey Sher and Nick van Dyk who are Activision Blizzard Studio’s presidents. Activision Blizzard Studio’s chief executive Bobby Kotick will also produce along with Kieran Fitzgerald already have penned the script. Sollima will also reportedly help develop the script and project if he signs on.
Activision Blizzard Studio is the movie division of the gaming company. Both presidents have previously talked about making a Call of Duty movie universe that they say can rival the MCU. The universe will apparently draw on different time eras and incarnations than what the games have already done.
