Since the finale of Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season Two, we’ve all been left to wonder once again what’s next for Clementine. According to The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, it looks like we will be getting that. Kirkman doesn’t state whether or not Clementine will be the main character in the coming game, but does mention that Clementine will be involved in the game among other brief details.
According to Kirkman, “Season three will actually be getting pretty close to where we are in the comics currently.” Kirkman also states, “We’ll be checking in on Clementine again, so we’ll be seeing her, seeing where she’s at, what’s going on with her which is going to be great.”
In the first season of The Walking Dead game, we see the first glimpses of the zombie outbreak, along with some familiar faces from the series. At this point in time, Clementine is only eight years old. In The Walking Dead comics, roughly four years has passed since the outbreak started. By the end of season two, Clementine is now 11 years old, therefore it would make sense that the story is starting to catch up to the comic book timeline.
Kirkman goes on to explain briefly that there will be some “comic book elements” that will be incorporated in the game. Kirkman also states that there are more things to come which he doesn’t want to spoil but fans will not see coming. Stating this, along with the mentioning of the timeline catching up with the comics may hint that we could see some familiar faces from the comics.
