HBO has confirmed today that season 8 of ‘Game of Thrones’ will be the shows last season. We’ve heard a lot rumors of the show ending so soon but now Casey Bloys from HBO confirms the news. “Yes, I think they (David Benioff & Dan Weiss) have a very specific plan about the number of seasons they want to do, If I could get them to do more, I would take 10 seasons, but we want to take their lead with what they can do and what the best version of the show is.” So it sounds like it’s the showrunners that feel the time has come to end the series.
With season 7 in early production stage, we’ll still have a couple more years of ‘Game of Thrones’; however, it is still not certain that the show will have it’s normal 10 episodes. Previous rumors suggest that season 7 will have 7 episodes and season 8 will have 6, totaling in 13 episodes left. Like I said, still no confirmation. What do you guys think?
