DC Entertainment Is Still Developing A ‘Booster Gold’ Movie
It's been a couple years since we've had any updated on Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's feature film adaptation of ‘Booster Gold.’ I wasn't sure if the movie was even still going to happen, especially after there was that big shake-up in DC film leadership at the studio.
Well, if you're a fan of Booster Gold, you'll be happy to learn that Greg Berlanti (Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow) is still developing it. While talking to The Wrap during an interview Berlanti said:
“It’s still in development with DC. They’re trying to figure out both the distance that we still have to travel and how we want to execute it.”
The studio is also still trying to figure out “how it’s going to fit into their greater landscape” which means the rest of the DC film slate, which they are also still trying to figure out. He goes on to say:
“That’s really on them, they’re still kind of determining their order of business on that end.“
One of the last things we heard about the movie was that it would not be a part of the DC Cinematic universe. The movie will be its own separate film much like The Joker origin movie that's in development.
Berlanti went on to say that they have a draft of a script that they really like but he doesn't say who wrote it. However, Zack Stent (X-Men: First Class, Thor) was at one point working on the project. Berlanti is still open to directing the film, and says:
"If the studio is excited — it’s obviously their determination. We finished all the work we need to do on the draft, I would love to do something in that space. I’m still a little clueless on how movies come together. I show up to work every day and make the work as good as I can but then they call me and say, ‘We’re making it!'"
