20th Century Fox To Skip SDCC 2016 Due To Piracy Concerns

20th Century Fox announced today that they will not be attending San Diego Comic-Con this year in order to avoid any leaks of upcoming projects they are working on. The concerns of piracy and leaks are a result of the leaked footage of both “Deadpool” and “X-Men:  Apocalypse” that followed last year’s convention.

20th Century Fox were not the only ones to suffer leaks following last years convention, as the first trailer for “Suicide Squad” was also leaked shortly after being shown in the same hall as 20th Century Fox debuted their material.

While this announcement surely won’t effect the attendance of SDCC, it is sure to upset many fans who may have wished to see a Deadpool or X-Men panel at the convention. This also means we will likely not see any footage from other upcoming 20th Century Fox films such as “Assassin’s Creed,” “Alien: Covenant,” or the upcoming “Wolverine” film.
